Google My Business

All that Google requires is the business name, location, and category. Once Google confirms it is not a duplicate, they will create the Business Profile for that location. The Business Profile is then open to consumers to leave reviews, add photos, ask questions, and even answer questions. 

Why is Google My Business Helpful?

1. Engaging your customers

There are a lot of ways consumers can interact with your Business Profile, and you use your Google My Business account to engage back with them. Google My Business makes it easy for customers to leave reviews, message the business through it and even construct update posts to keep viewers coming back and to update them on what’s new in your business.

2. Highlight your business

A Business Profile alone contains limited information about your business, but through your Google My Business account dashboard, you can provide hours, a link to your website, products and pricing, and other details that make your business unique.

3. SEO Ranking

To use Google My Business for SEO, make sure to incorporate relevant keywords into your Business Profile so you can tell Google what you’re trying to rank for. Use them in your “from the business” description, your responses to reviews, your answers to questions, and in the posts you publish. Make sure to include them naturally.

Social Media

You may be saying that you already utilise social media for your company, however a good practise that you need to know is Omni-Channelling. This is the practice of advertising yourself on many different platforms and applying links to one another. This can be done in the bio of your pages or even better mentioned in your posts to make a web of connections! 

This is beneficial due to the idea of directing customers to all your platforms and keeping their attention for longer, opposed to them leaving your page for other businesses’ content on their feed. Keeping their attention on you leads to a more favourable perception of your business and a higher chance they will return to see what you update them with next.

Another great way to increase your reach on social media is featuring stories from other businesses and replying to comments from viewers on your posts. The idea of building a favourable relation with other businesses allows both parties to feature each other’s posts to give more traction and increase each other’s followers. Furthermore, communicating with your followers actively cultivates more interactions with your posts; viewers are more incentivised to comment, share and like when they know that the owner of the business will recognise the interaction.
