Learning to Drive

First Lessons

During my first few lessons, I was nervous to even touch the wheel! At that time I was in the process of learning how to turn and when to shift into the second gear, which is very simple in hindsight now haha. Every time my scheduled lesson came I was shaken by the idea of getting behind the wheel, but to my surprise, when I had finished I was exhilarated and felt a sense of achievement in my performance.

At the time of writing I have gone through 10 lessons in total and I have gained a lot of confidence since my first few times handling a car! Furthermore, I have to thank my driving instructor for being so supportive in my journey. Richard had taught my mother when she was in the stages of learning how to drive so it was a pleasure to have a familiar face teaching me the ropes.
